Duration: 4 weeks +
Location: Quito.
Project Aims: Assisting in an Orphanage located in the south of Quito is a Home for boys from 6 years old to 18 years old, There are also two orphans that have not been able to leave and are over 40 years old. The children are either blind, deaf or mentally disabled.
Project Tasks: Volunteers help with all the general duties of the orphanage including helping the children with home-work, playing games with them, teaching the children, showing affection and feeding them. a very rewarding experience.
Who Can Participate?: IVP.
Optional Activities: Weekends for sightseeing around Ecuador.
Placement Costs: US$ 250 per month for accommodation and breakfasts.
Or: US$330 per month for accommodation and all meals.
Accommodation: Provided at the orphanage
Hours of Activity: Monday to Friday.
Visa Requirements: It is the responsibility of all participants to obtain any necessary visas.
Required Items: Warm clothes for evenings, sleeping bag, hat, sunscreen, towel, mosquito repellent and basic toiletries.
Language: Basic Spanish required.
