And that’s a wrap!
Words can not express the emotion I feel for this life changing experience, as you all know I have spent the last few weeks in Vanuatu volunteering conducting health checks within the local villages we were able to conduct over 400 health checks.
These health checks included Blood pressure and heart rate, Blood glucose and general check ups such as measuring weight, waist and hip along with identifying nutritional inequities and giving sugar educational talks to villages that do not have access to these health checks up that the average person would not think twice about, due to access to a clinic, affordability and the lack of education around health awareness.
This experience has been one big emotional roller coaster ride with many ups and downs, while working in some pretty rough conditions I have learnt so much life changing information from my fellow volunteers and the experience in general however most of all by the people of Vanuatu, with so little they still every day show their strength, love, kindness, resilient and most of all happiness with so little they are some of the happiest people I have met, which has opened my eyes up to the real world and that if having less in life brings so much happiness the less is best and I choose happiness over more any day.
A program like this true does change a person’s life in more ways than one! so a huge thank you to all the other volunteers, our co-ordinators Lynne and Meriam and most of all the people of Vanuatu for opening your hearts and your homes to me forever grateful. Truly life changing experience!
